'it's about the music'
Our heart lies in the attentive audience experience and we are revered for creating and maintaining one of the finest intimate showcase venues in the Canadian music scene, not only locally / provincially / nationally but international as well for over 16 years. We do believe we have had and will continue to have a positive effect on live entertainment production standards for Canadian venues and we do trust that our endeavours are appreciated by our audiences and performers alike.

BUT

we are entering into the 'live broadcast' aspect of presenting entertainment

the 'new normal music scene of live streaming'

as a live broadcast business

our crew works with the entertainers and all on site to guarantee

all COVID protocols that we have in place are maintained

to make sure bubbles are acknowledged and archived

Welcome to

Maintaining the Duncan Showroom's existance

over our 16 years of being open as an all ages venue, yes, we have had our hand out to the community to aid us in staying open

it is the nature of the arts to be subsidized somehow, and our tax dollars do have an arts component allotted and we are not included in that allotment as a private business

but this is not your regular theatre

we believe in a venue for new material to be heard, original music to be performed, boundaries  to be pushed and all in a 'hip' fashion

we have been open for 16 years so it…

Matt Billon Presents Island Comedy - live stream only * 'offensive' language to some will be in use...be for warned

The Duncan Showroom, 131 Station Street, Duncan BC

world traveled comedian Matt Billon hosts a monthly series of Saturdays to introduce you to 2-3 new acts per show that he has searched the island for

comedians that needs the breaks, that wants to rack up some stage time

the ones who are serious about being funny

of course we have to listen to Matt himself (has been the supporting act for Pauly Shore, Doug Stanhope, Harland Williams, Tommy Chong, Rob Schneider, Tom Green and has just finished his fourth successful tour with Canadian comedic comedy legend Mike McDonald. Matt signed on with Los Angeles agency Paradigm Talent after making waves at this year’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, where he placed second in the popular Homegrown Talent Competition. His spot-on performance led to five other successful Just for Laughs shows, including Comedy Night in Canada and the ‘best of’ showcase, Talk of the Fest. The latter was attended by a slew of TV industry executives, who were impressed by his laid-back, soft-spoken style. He credits bouncing around from town to town after his parents divorced in forming that style.)
