Described as a “marvelous performing artist” (Piano Journal) and “an extraordinarily multi-talented…musician and scholar” (Music & Vision), American-Canadian pianist Nancy Lee Harper has performed and taught in 29 countries on four continents and at prestigious institutions such as the Juilliard School of Music, the Eastman School of Music, Liszt University, Bruckner University, Trinity College (London), and many more. Dedicated to bringing less well-known music to light, Nancy has recorded 3 volumes of Portuguese Piano Music, works of Malcolm Dedman (1948-2025), the complete solo piano music of Beryl Rubinstein (1898-1952), and others (Toccata Classics, Numérica, Arc, etc.), occasionally as world premieres and/or works dedicated to her as a specialist in Iberian music. Her recordings are available on Spotify, YouTube, iTunes, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. Nancy not only enjoys performing as soloist but as a collaborative pianist. Now retired from the Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal), Dr. Harper authored many scientific articles and books on (Iberian music, Piano Pedagogy, Music & Medicine, Bahá’í academics), translated into six languages, which have won praise from critics. Alexandra Roedder – 2026 Short Bio

Based in Sacramento, California, Dr. Roedder began cello lessons at age six with Nina Flyer, and continued her studies in high school and beyond with Irene Sharp, Leighton Fong, Bonnie Hampton, and Antonio Lysy, as well as Elizabeth Reed and Lucia Swarts on baroque cello. She has won numerous awards for both playing and scholarship, including the highly competitive Eisner Award at UC Berkeley for artistic excellence. After completing her BA in Music at UC Berkeley, she studied baroque cello at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague before returning to the United States to complete a combined MA-PhD in cello performance and musicology at UCLA. Her research into the effects of globalization on Japanese animation film scores remains foundational in the field, though she has left writing about music behind for the time being. She currently maintains a large private studio of children and adults, and performs with multiple orchestras and small ensembles in and around Northern California.
